EXECUTIVE
BOARD MINUTES
FEBRUARY 24th, 2010
MEMBERS PRESENT: President Roman Sergeant at Arms Roberts Board Member Lane Board Member Fabiano
MEMBERS ABSENT: Vice-President Barnes Secretary/Treasurer Morrissey Board Member Teigeler
Meeting called to order: 0745
Mike Martin wrote two letters to the executive board:
- The retirement party for Capt. Hutchinson and Eng. Frazee will have more costs. There must be a liability insurance for the hall and for the provided alcohol (between $350-$700).
The executive board agreed, due to the escalating costs not known at the previous meeting, to bring the updated information and costs back to the retirees and the union
body for further discussion
- We have had some recent issues with the Coke machines due to fluctuating prices. Coke advised us to get a line of credit and only pay once a month instead of weekly.
The executive board agreed to bring this to the union body for discussion.
Robert Lane had two questions:
- Results from the MERC hearing on the Fire Inspector position. President Roman has not heard yet from MERC, as they have up to a year to respond.
- Fire department study. President Roman states he has the study and if anyone would like to read it they can ask him for it. As it is a large document and to maintain accountability,
he can only give it to ONE person at a time and it is NOT to be copied
SAFETY COMMITTEE: Nothing new. Interesting web site
CONTRACT: We need to start thinking about the upcoming contract negotiations.
May 5th: contract item meeting
July 7th: Research to be completed
Oct. 1st: Negotiations begin
Lane: Donation for the upcoming Firefighters Fishing for Kids to be placed on the agenda. All in favor 4-0.
Future Executive Board Meetings: EVERYONE needs to show up for meetings as we need to all come together as one. Stewards are also expected to
be at regular union meetings.
Meeting adjourned: 0835. Michael Roberts
